Stretch Hoods

Stretch hoods are films designed and produced to protect pallets and loads and secure them during transportation and storage.

These hoods work in a similar way as the shrink hoods with the difference that do not need to be expose to heat to obtain the film retraction necessary to create a unit.

The films used to produce the stretch hoods are elastic by choosing the correct resins and production conditions. These films are produced by blown film to ensure the desired mechanical and stretching properties.

Stretch hoods are promoted as having better retention force and less probability of losing it during transport. It is also claimed that they use less film than conventional wrapping with stretch film and avoid the need of a top sheet to secure impermeability of the pallet.
