Technical Films

Many applications can be covered by this category but, in general technical films can be defined as those films associated with any of the activities performed after being extruded.  The most common are:

  • Printing
  • Lamination
  • Automatic Packaging (Vertical or Horizontal FFS & others)
  • Sealing for bag making
  • Surface protection
  •  Others

Because the needs of satisfying the specifications of the secondary process these films usually require better quality than other for commodity applications.

Higher demand on thickness uniformity, width, mechanical and physical properties and roll quality are usual for these type of films.

Depending on the final application some film specifications could be tighter than others. Because these films become raw materials for the secondary process, master rolls or big diameter rolls are generally preferred.  This also imposes demands on the rolls quality.
