Cast polypropylene (CPP) films had emerged as an alternative to replace cellophane, PVC or wax paper allowing for donwgauging, economic advantage because PP has a lower density and very few restrictions in converting.
Candy wrap films require good optical properties, low thickness and high stiffness to give good dead fold characteristics during conversion.
They are also required to have very good organoleptic and mechanical properties.
Coefficient of Friction (CoF) is a major factor in conversion of PP films.
This is influenced by slip agent used and the film reel storage conditions – as slip migration in PP is time dependent.
