Processed Meats & Other Barrier Applications

Cast Film can be used as well as an alternative to for packages requiring high barrier and excellent optical properties.

  • Cast film is easier to produce containing a high number of layers and new technologies allow to multiply several times those layers.  

  • Better clarity, gloss, thickness uniformity and softer films are some of the advantages of cast barrier films versus blown films.  

  • However, the mechanical properties are lower than those films produced by blown film.  

  • Another disadvantage is that typically big orders are needed to produce efficiently in the cast process while blown film is a little more flexible and allow for more flexibility in changing orders.
