1961 Gloucester Engineering founded by G. Wilbur Tracy, Ingvar Tornberg and Charles M. Schott First winder and extruder

1963 First garment bag machine

1964 CRS Universal Bag Machine 41

1965 First High Speed 419 Garment Bag Machine

1966 Model 422 Bag Separator

1967 First single and dual turret automatic winders introduced

1968 Extro foam extrusion system Polycool Air Ring cooling system 423 Bag Separator First (internal bubble cooling) system developed

1971 Extrusion Corporation founded (7/12/71) to make ion implant machine, located in Peabody, MA Gloucester stock offered on the American Exchange

1972 First granulators developed First sheet extrusion system Model 425 Dual Head Bag Machine developed

1973 Gloenco Newport founded Expanded machine shop at Sargent Street facility

1975 First 3-layer die

1978 Gloucester Engineering becomes part of Battenfeld Group

1981 BGE celebrates 20th anniversary

1982 Model 192 winder developed. 1985 Extrol development began

1986 Model 1010 high speed winder for stretch film First Contracool Extruder Extrol 6032 introduced

1987 First Traversanip Model 1002 winder for high speed stretch film introduced

1989 First Contracool sheet extruder

1990 Touchscreen controls incorporated in winders

1991 Autoprofile systems developed 1009S Phantom Axis Winder First 7-Layer die built

1992 BGE celebrates 30th anniversary 4180 Bag Machine developed Model 700 Cast Film Unit

1993 900 Series Air Ring

1994 1020/1021 Surface Winders

1995 5-layer stretch film line installed 1002DS (Dual Turret) Winder Oscillating Autoprofile Air Ring 5-layer concentric mandrel Blown film IBC die introduced Gravimetric Blending System

1997 First 9-Layer die built Optifilow LP™ (low profile) die Extrol Anywhere remote access Opticell™ Foam Die          

1998 1022 Automatic Surface Winder Servo indexing developed for stretch film winders

1999 1002CS (Center Support) Winder 4.8 meter wide CPP line installed 1033 Phantom Axis Winder

2000 Harold Wrede retired Phil Murphee named fifth president Horizontal Haul Off introduced

2003 BGE launches the Horizontal Haul Off or H-Nip and also a Softbox for CPP production

2004 BGE pioneers In-line MDO's for Blown Film pre-stretched hand wrap market

2005 BGE introduces redesigned 9-layer blown film die with installation on its industrial scale lab line BGE introduces its first Servo Shuttle Bag Machine Model 4180

2006 BGE installs market's first 17 layer cast film line. Also introduces 'Flexelite' flexographic printing press

2007 Introduction of Encapsulated Feed Technology (EFT) for blown film dies and Light Grooved Feed (LGF) for extruders Carl Johnson becomes president of BGE

2009 WOW Winder introduced at NPE2009 Symphonix introduced at NPE2009

2011 Blue Wolf Capital becomes GEC’s new owner
