GEC Blown Film Dies Rebuild Program

A Die represents a major capital investment, and it is the backbone upon which quality film systems are built. 

Gloucester Engineering is expanding its Die Rebuild Program to bring existing Dies up to like new condition!

 

This program is designed to offer a cost effective, shortened lead time approach to increase the performance of Existing Dies, or to have spare Dies upgraded to new condition.

What is included?

The Die Rebuild Program includes the following services: 

  • Complete disassembly and inspection of your existing Die with a written summary of the suggested rework.
  • Prior to any rebuild, a full Quotation and cost competitive price will be provided to outline the exact scope of work that is included in the rebuild.
  • GEC’s Die Rebuild Program includes Monolayer through 9-Layer Dies. We have original documentation from when the Die’s were manufactured originally, and can maintain the critical specifications that are required on a Die Rebuild.
 

The Die Rebuild Program is designed to be flexible, and accommodate a significant number of rebuild options for the customer. These options include:

  • Stripping and Re-plating of complete Dies or Die components.
  • Hand polishing of Die components to eliminate minor surface imperfections that can impact the performance of a Die.
  • In the case of severe damage, we offer Dabber weld service to build up surfaces that have significant damage, and machining to original specifications.
  • We offer a selection of plating options for the Die Rebuilds including Electroless Nickel, Chrome and Thin Dense Chrome.
  • To accommodate frequent Die Gap changes, we can machine you Die Pin for Pin Inserts. This allows removal of just the Insert to change Die Gaps vs. having  to remove the complete Mandrel.
  • We can also machine both the Sizing Ring and Pin for Inserts to facilitate fast, complete Die Lip cleanings, and replacement/repair of damaged Die Lips.
  • All new guarding and cabinets are included for a new, modern look.
