Gearboxes being the power house on any type of extrusion line are the one piece of equipment that no one can afford to have out of commission, that’s why Gloucester Engineering has committed to supplying our customers with the fastest turnaround time rebuilding gearboxes. Gloucester now has two shifts dedicated to rebuilding gearboxes and we are in the process of making gearboxes for stock so our customers will have the option of purchasing a new box off the shelf or renting one until theirs is rebuild so down time will be kept to the absolute minimum.

The Gearbox Rebuild Program includes the following services:

• Gearbox is totally disassembled, all internal parts bearings, gears and the quill are removed.

• The quill is inspected for cracks and excessive wear. (Which is only possible by using Gloucester Engineering drawings).  

• Gears are washed in a hot cleaning solution all teeth are inspected for wear and correct contact with mating gears.

• Not all gearboxes need complete rebuilding, after inspecting all parts in the gearbox, Gloucester’s experienced technicians will decide what parts can be used over to keep the repair cost as low as possible and still  provide the highest quality rebuild.    

• Prior to any rebuild a full quotation and cost competitive quotation will be provided to outline the exact scope of work that is included in the rebuild.

• GEC’s Gearbox Rebuild Program includes all Gloucester gearboxes new style and old style.
